“I believe that this nation is the last hope of Western civilization and if this oasis of the world shall be overrun, perverted, contaminated or destroyed, then the last flickering light of humanity will be extinguished. I take no issue with those who would praise the contributions which have been made to our society by people of many races, of varied creeds and colors. However, we have in the United States today hard-core, indigestible blocs which have not become integrated into the American way of life, but which, on the contrary are its deadly enemies. Today, as never before, untold millions are storming our gates for admission and those gates are cracking under the strain. The solution of the problems of Europe and Asia will not come through a transplanting of those problems en masse to the United States. I do not intend to become prophetic, but if the enemies of this legislation succeed in riddling it to pieces, or in amending it beyond recognition, they will have contributed more to promote this nation’s downfall than any other group since we achieved our independence as a nation.”
These are the words of Sen. Pat McCarran in support of the McCarran-Walter bill, “Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.” Read them carefully and consider them well for they are prophetic.
Indeed, “enemies of this legislation,” led by U.S. Rep. Emanuel Celler and Sen. Philip Hart and aided by Sen. Ted Kennedy, succeeded in changing the original bill via the Hart-Celler Act of 1965, about which Kennedy declared that, “our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants … and the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.”
McCarran was speaking at that time of the invasion and proliferation of communism, and his bill was intended to call a halt to it. But the Democrat Party itself was soon taken over by socialists and virtually every college, state/federal office and the government are contaminated with them, to the detriment of our laws and freedoms.
If McCarron were making that statement today, he would have to include, among the problems of Europe and Asia, those of the Arabic and African nations. Nor will the “transplanting of the latter en masse to the U.S. create solutions.”
Today, we have the invasion and proliferation of Islamic nations whose members, for the most part, refuse assimilation and are fully intent upon imposing their culture upon us.
For decades, our citizens (exclusive of the ‘politically correct’ and radical persuasion) have called for border security and stringent evaluation of those coming in as “refugees.” We’ve not insisted their own countries care for its citizens. We’ve demanded that those arriving be required to learn English, pledge allegiance to our Constitution and laws; respect our flag and Judeo-Christian roots, be capable of working and assimilate as Americans. These values have been ignored.
And were it not for the people arising and electing President Donald Trump we would now be strangling in the clutches of not only the socialists and Islamists but also the globalists: an evil trinity, mutually intent upon eliminating Christianity and destroying America. Think about it – is that OK with you?
It’s time now to review the original goals of the “Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952”; correct and adapt the wording to the needs of today and then get it passed and enforced.
America has always been a generous and strong country, sending monetary and other aid to those in need, help for tragedies, such as volcanic eruptions, plagues; providing medicine, construction supplies, food and building roads and housing: legitimate help to those in need in their own countries, their own language, culture, families and friends.
But we have been victimized by the United Nations, which exports millions across the world to “help” them in strange, foreign lands. We have also been betrayed by Christian Church leaders serving as conduits in funneling this invasion, hastening the “re-populating” of America. And for a lot more than 30 pieces of silver this time.
