N24 Correspondent, WASHINGTON:- The U.S. Congress is set to vote on two immigration bills next week. Congressional Democratic leader Stanley Hoyer made the announcement in a conversation with the Democratic Caucus on Tuesday.
The bill covers the protection of undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children. The first of these two bills called the Farm Workforce Modernization Act and the American Dream and Promise Act, states that undocumented farmers will be taken to the path of green card.
The American Dream and Promise Act covers the issue of undocumented immigrants coming to the United States as children and living in the United States. Democratic senators Dix Durbin and Lindsay Graham unveiled the Senate version of the bill last month.
Democrats are still pushing for Biden’s passage of the US Citizenship Act. It covers 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States before January 1, 2021, including TPS carriers, agricultural workers, and green cards.
The US Citizenship Act, which will take 11 million undocumented voters to the polls next week, is not.
