N24 Correspondent, WASHINGTON:- An additional 22,000 temporary non-agricultural worker H2B visas will be available in the United States for the fiscal year 2021 from next year.
From next week employers will be able to apply for an additional 22,000 quotas.
Out of the additional 22,000, 16,000 visas will be available for temporary non-agricultural workers on H2B visas and returning to work in the fiscal years 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The remaining 6,000 visas will be available for workers in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala who are exempt from the criteria for returning to work.
In order to bring workers on this visa, the employer must be able to prove that the business will suffer if temporary workers are not brought.
You must also prove that the worker is not available in the United States for the job, that those in the United States are unwilling or unqualified to work.
Similarly, the worker himself cannot apply for this visa, the employer must apply.
Applications for additional visas can be submitted from May 25.
The regular quota for applying for this visa was reached on February 12.
Therefore, additional numbers have created opportunities for more workers.
Employers can also hire workers already in the United States on H2B visas without having to wait until a new application is approved.
The additional quota will be applicable only for the fiscal year 2021 and will not be reduced from the number of the coming fiscal year.
